H-alpha Fulldome - By: Babak A. Tafreshi
Single-exposure fisheye image (fulldome) made with an H-alpha filter that blocks most of the visible light except for a narrow band in the red part of the spectrum where the emission nebulae in the night sky are most shining. Many of these cosmic Hydorgen clouds are visible along the Milky Way, most of them invisble to our eyes. On the bottom are the Magellanic Clouds above Cerro Paranal mountain, home to the European Southern Observatory in the Atacama Desert, Chile.
