Orion and Sirius in the Winter Sky - By: Babak A. Tafreshi
Two prominent winter constellations Orion (the Hunter, at right) and Canis Major (the Big Dog, with the bright star Sirius, at left) are shown with symbolic depictions in the night sky above the Alborz Mountain range in Iran. The eerie glow in the Haraz valley in the foreground is the light of cars traveling the road that leads from Tehran to the Caspian Sea.
