A time-exposure star trail shows the rotation of the sky around the north celestial pole (marked by Polaris) over the historic caravansary of Deh Namak in Iran, along one of the Silk Road routes. A caravansary was a roadside inn, a place for travelers to rest and recover from the day's journey.
