Orion and Nebula and ALMA Telescopes - By: Babak A. Tafreshi
Constellation Orion sets over the ALMA radio telescopes, an array of 66 dishes located 5000 meters high on the Chilean Altiplano. The bright red giant star Betelgeuse is on the right and the white-blue star Rigel is on the left. The various nebulae of Orion are captured in the image, including the Orion Nebula (M42, the brightest cloud), the large Barnard's Loop, and the little Horsehead Dark Nebula embedded in an emission nebula next to stars of the Orion's Belt.
