Imaging at 5000 Meters High - By: Babak A. Tafreshi
The Milky Way appears over the ALMA radio telescopes, an array of 66 dishes located 5000 meters (over 16000 ft) high on the Chilean Altiplano. The Small Magellanic Cloud is also on the lower right. A photographer equiped with oxygen capsule captures the extremely dark sky of ALMA.
