Mount Ararat Double Volcano   -  By: Babak A. Tafreshi

The first quarter Moon shines in the evening sky of Mount Ararat's eastern slopes in Armenia. Today Ararat double volcano (5137 m and 3896 m) is located inside Turkey (and is known as Agri Dagi) at the border with Armenia and Iran. The mountain is the national symbol of Armenia and since ancient times it has been regarded by the Armenians as their spiritual home. It is also the place where some believe the Noah's Ark has landed. Also notable in the horizon of this view is a church against the giant larger Ararat. The Khor Virap historic monastery is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Armenia because of its location near Mount Ararat.
