On the top of La Palma, Canary Islands, there are large telescopes of Roque de los Muchachos Observatory at 2400 meters above see level. There are about a dozen major research telescopes on this excellent observing site. From this vantage point at the top of island (a 2400m peak) the edge of Caldera de la Taburiente covers the foreground.
