Quadrantid Meteor Shower - By: Babak A. Tafreshi
Northern stars and a streaking meteor as seen from a bizarre natural wonder of Qeshm Island in the Persian Gulf. The location is known as the Valley of Stars to locals. In the sky Polaris, the North Star, is right above the rock formations on the left. The image is made during the annual Quadrantid Meteor Shower (peaks on January 4).
