Moon? Think twice! This is Venus, shining brightly in the evening sky. As it approaches to orbital position between the Earth and Sun the disc of Venus gradually appears like a thin but large crescent, large enough to see with a good binocular and to image with a telephoto lens. And through a telescope the view is beautiful, just like Venus!
