Tide Pools under Stars - By: Babak A. Tafreshi
The Milky Way in the constellation Canis Major, Orion, and Taurus photographed over the Atlantic coastline of Maine, northeastern United States. Planet Jupiter is the brightest object in the view. Sirius closer to the horizon is the brightest star in the entire night sky. The green airglow (natural emission of teh Earth upper atmosphere) is visible near the horizon and light of a nearby city appears at the lower right. Here rock hundreds of millions of years old is washed clean by the sea, making it a good place to study geologic details.
