The Milky Way in the constellations Canis Major and Orion is photographed over the Atlantic coastline of Maine, northeastern United States. Closer to the horizon is Sirius, the brightest star in the entire night sky. The green and red airglow (natural emission of the Earth upper atmosphere) are visible above the horizon. Date: Oct. 2012
