The Milky Way in the constellations Canis Major, Orion, and Taurus is photographed over the Atlantic coastline of Maine, northeastern United States. Planet Jupiter is the brightest object in the view. Sirius, closer to the horizon, is the brightest star in the entire night sky. The green and red airglow (natural emission of the Earth upper atmosphere) are visible near the horizon. Date: Oct. 2012
