A road welcomes visitors to this starry heaven in Portugal! Jupiter (the brightest) and winter constellations from Canis Major (with bright star Sirius) to Orion and Taurus (hosting Jupiter) are photographed above Alqueva Dark Sky Reserve in the Alentejo region of Portugal. In December 2011 Alqueva became the first Starlight Destination, designated by UNESCO initiative Starlight Reserve.
