Space Station above Iran National Observatory - By: Babak A. Tafreshi
The International Space Station (ISS) crosses the northern sky above Zagros Mountain of Iran. The image is made from 3600-meter high Mount Gargash, not far from the town of Kashan (which is the cause for lights in the middle of the image). The mountain has exceptional seeing and atmospheric transparency for astronomical observations and the climate and seeing at the peak are monitored by Iran National Observatory project. Date: November 2010
