Stars of Spring - By: Babak A. Tafreshi
Spring landscape of Alborz Mountains is illuminated by moonlight. Planet Saturn (the brightest in the picture) rises from the east and shines brightly at opposition (closest orbital distance to the Earth). Constellation Leo, the symbol of spring nights in the northern hemisphere, is notable above Saturn. And Ursa Major with its prominent seven-star asterism called Big Dipper stands on the left (Date: April 2010).
