Milky Way over La Palma Observatory - By: Babak A. Tafreshi
The band of the Milky Way, our home galaxy, rises over large research telescopes on the top of La Palma, Canary Islands. The bright bulge toward the galactic center is on the right marked by constellations Sagittarius and Scorpius. Bright yellow-red star Antares points the heart of the celestial scorpion at the upper tight. The stunningly dark night sky appears above some of the world's major telescopes in Roque de los Muchachos observatory, located at about 2400 meters above sea level.
