Listening to the Universe - By: Babak A. Tafreshi
Sky in motion above APEX (the Atacama Pathfinder Experiment) radio telescope located at 5,100 meters above sea level in the Atacama desert near the site of ALMA observatory, in northern Chile. With two other TWAN colleagues we were on this high-altitude observatory site in November 2011 for an imaging expedition organized by the European Southern Observatory (ESO). Note the Milky Way in the constellation Sagittarius in the background of this close-up view of the 12-meter antenna. Two beautiful star clusters in Scorpius, M6 and M7, are also visible in the beginning of the video.
