The Valley of the Moon   -  By: Babak A. Tafreshi

Timelapse video: The disc of our home galaxy, the Milky Way sets over the Valley of the Moon (Valle de la Luna) in northern Chile. This amazing site of various stone and sand formations which have been carved by wind and water is located in the Atacama Desert, close to San Pedro de Atacama. The brighter part of the Milky Way captured in this time-lapse video is the galactic bulge in the constellations Scorpius and Sagittarius. Note a flashing streak in the middle of the image in the beginning of the video. It's not a meteor but caused by a passing Iridium satellite.
