A Story of Far North - By: Babak A. Tafreshi
A long-exposure sequence of photos from Lapland in northern Sweden resulted in this surreal image of the trailing stars and dancing northern lights. The two brightest trails are planets Venus and Jupiter, and the packed group of trails on the upper left is the Pleiades star cluster (the Seven Sisters). Generated by the solar wind, aurora is a master artist of nature, with its ever changing forms and colors painted by dancing lights on the night sky of polar areas.
