Around the South Pole   -  By: Babak A. Tafreshi

In a long-exposure image stars are rotating around the south celestial pole (caused by the Earth rotation around its axis). Unlike Polaris in the northern sky, the southern sky does not have a bright star marking the celestial pole. Bright star Canopus appears on the left. The foreground is the dark Atacama Desert in Chile.
