Galaxies and Volcanoes - By: Babak A. Tafreshi
The starry sky in the beginning of a night at high altitude Chilean Altiplano near the border of Bolivia. Volcanoes in this image reach over 6000 meters high. Constellation Andromeda is on the left side of this view where our large neighboring galaxy M31 (the Andromeda Galaxy) appears as a elongated halo nearly 6 times wider than the full moon disc in our sky. But look carefully and you will find another neighboring galaxy of our Milky Way. In the middle of the view M33, known as the Triangulum Galaxy, is located.
