Starry sky of high altitude Andes appears over the radio telescopes of ALMA array. Pleiades star cluster and the rest of constellation Taurus is on the left. Near the middle is the prominent figure of Orion, the Hunter, but here in the southern hemisphere it appears upside down. On the right is Sirius, the brightest stars in the entire night sky. Located at the Chajnantor plateau, at altitude of over 5000 meters in the Chilean Andes, the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) is considered as one of the most complex astronomical projects of our time. All 66 antennas of the array will operate together as a single giant telescope.
