Starry Sky of Austrian Alps   -  By: Babak A. Tafreshi

Starry Sky of Austrian Alps in a clear winter night from Emberger Alm, Carinthia. The winter Milky Way is captured on the right side where stars of Orion are setting in the west. Shining through the trees is Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky. On the left side spring constellations are rising over the south. A large area of this part is covered with Hydra, the largest constellation in the entire sky but with only one bright star (upper left) known as Alphard (means the solitary one in Arabic). The lights over the south comes from the large towns on the other side of Alps in Italy.
