As seen on NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day the dark total lunar eclipse of 15 June 2011. The moon was near the brightest region of the Milky Way in the same view with many notable deep sky objects: several star clusters, Lagoon and Trifid nebulae, and bright star Antares (right end) and Rho Ophiuichi dust clouds. This panorama is not an HDR or other form of composites. It's simply made of stitching 8 side by side images all made with a fixed setting.
