On Oct. 24, 2007 Comet Holmes amazingly erupted to magnitude 2.5, nearly a million times brighter than it's magnitude 17 brightness 24 hours before. This is one of the most stunning cometary events in modern history of Astronomy. comet is so far away that appeared star like in this image of Oct. 24 evening from light pollutred Metropolitan Tehran, only few hours after the eruption started.
