The most magnificent moment of a total solar eclipse is the time when the last rays of the Sun disappear behind the dark Moon, or right after totality when the first rays reappear, making the diamond ring effect. On 1999 Aug 11 I was observing this eclipse from the small town of Nahavand in western part of Iran where the totality lasted nearly 2 minutes.
