Horses in Iceland - By: Babak A. Tafreshi
Icelandic horses in Thingvellir National Park of Iceland with the setting sun over a snow-covered volcano. They are small, at times pony-sized, but long-lived and hardy horses. They are developed from ponies taken to Iceland by Norse settlers in the 9th and 10th centuries.
