The landscape near the temple of Garni, a major symbol of Armenia landmarks about 28 km southeast from Yerevan, the Armenian capital. A part of the Garni Gorge is pictured here; a valley carved out by the Goght River, just below the village with the same name. Along the sides of the gorge are cliff walls of well preserved basalt columns known as the "Symphony of the Stones".
