Alborz Winter Night - By: Babak A. Tafreshi
Night sky over Mount Damavand; the highest peak in the Middle East, a spectacular volcano that reaches 5610 meters high, located in northern Iran. On the right along the Milky Way bright stars Deneb in Cygnus and Vega in Lyra are visible. On the left is the light dome of Tehran about 70 km away. Light of passing cars in the Haraz valley appears on the bottom; a main route between Tehran and the Caspian Sea through the Alborz Mountains.
