Mount Teide from La Palma - By: Babak A. Tafreshi
From the top of La Palma, Canary Islands at the edge of Caldera de la Taburiente. The 10-km wide volcanic crater (with walls tower 2000m over the caldera floor) dominates the northern part of the island. The caldera originated some 2 million years ago with a massive shield volcano. At the horizon the neighboring Tenerife island is visible, marked by spectacular Teide volcano which reaches over 3700m above the ocean.
