Evening twilight at Mount Ararat eastern slopes in Armenia. Ararat double volcano (5137 m and 3896 m) today is located inside Turkey (and is known as Agri Dagi) at the border with Armenia and Iran. The mountain is the national symbol of Armenia and since ancient times it has been revered by the Armenians as their spiritual home. It is also the place where some believe the Noah's Ark has landed. Also notable in the horizon of this view is a church against the giant larger Ararat. The Khor Virap historic monastery is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Armenia because of its location near Mount Ararat.
