Atacama Splendid Night - By: Babak A. Tafreshi
The last rays of the Moon, before setting, shines on a giant red rock in the Atacama Desert in Chile, where ancient civilizations of the region left many rock carved petroglyphs. In the sky Jupiter is on the upper left. Pleiades and Taurus are in the middle left and Orion and Sirius right above the rock in the middle. Southern stars and the Large Magellanic Cloud appears on the right end.
