Namakdan   -  By: Babak A. Tafreshi

A salt cave known as Namakdan (saltcellar in Persian) in the Qeshm Island, Persian Gulf. Some mountains of Qeshm have turned into salt caves as a result of accumulation of sea water in deep fault and subsequent precipitation of salt. Being one of the world's longest salt caves (~7 km long) this cave is located in the Namakdan Salt Dome, dominating the southwest part of the island.
