Happy Nowruz - By: Babak A. Tafreshi
Nowruz (Persian new year) is one of the few national celebrations in the world that is not only an astronomical event but also a changing time for nature. In other word it's unique since it is not related to any society, belief, religion or any government and politics, it is a celebration on March 20/21 for Vernal Equinox or beginning of spring. Nowruz is the most ancient celebration in Iran which still exist widely among Iranian people today, where ever they live on this planet. It is also the most important annual celebration in Tajikistan and Afghanistan and for Kurds in Turkey, Iraq and Syria. Spring comes with wide range of natural changes in Iran. Green and legendary valley of Alamut in north east Qazvin is one of the magnificent spring showcases in Iran, with white and pink blossom all over the valley's many villages. Here I froze at this eye-catching view when I was wandering in natural beauties of Zarabad village in Alamut valley.
