Around the Pole - By: Babak A. Tafreshi
The rotating sky in timelapse motion. Time-exposure sequences display how stars are rotating around the north celestial pole, marked by the north star Polaris, a constant motion caused by the Earth rotation. From the beginning to end the scenes are filmed in the Alborz Mountains of Iran (the ancient tower), Mono Lake (California), La Palma (Canary Islands, the scene of night sky only), Yosemite National Park (California), Mt. Damavand in Iran (the spectacular snow-covered volcano), Lapland in northern Sweden (the aurora trailing scene).
