Stars above La Palma - By: Babak A. Tafreshi
Time-lapse video: When the evening twilight was fading to darkness above La Palma in Canary Islands, this time-lapse sequence began to capture the rotating sky above some of the world's major telescopes in Roque de los Muchachos observatory, located at altitude of about 2400 meters right at the edge of cloud-covered giant volcanic caldera of the island. In the beginning of the video note the International Space Station passing over the observatory at about 400km above the Earth. It's seen only a second in this video made of long exposure images while it actually crossed the sky in few minutes. The yellow light on the right comes from the neighboring larger island of Tenerife and it's airport. See the star trail image resulted from this sequence.
