Moon, Venus, and the King Parade - By: Babak A. Tafreshi
In the morning twilight the Moon and planet Venus rise above a complex of several bas-relief left from the ancient Persia. Located near Persepolis in Fars province of Iran, this site is known as Naqsh-e Rajab. The site includes 4 amazing bas relief and a inscription displaying the kings of Sassanid period, from 3rd century. Pictured on the left in this panoramic view is the bas-relief known as Shapur's Parade which celebrates the king Shapur military victory in 244 AD over the Roman emperor.
