Rock-cut astonishing temple of Kailasa, in Ellora caves (Maharashtra, India) dedicated to Hindu god of Shiva, is the world largest monolithic sculpture, hewn from the rock by 7000 labourers over a 150-year period, started in mid 8th century. To build the temple they removed 200,000 tonnes of rock.
