Adventures of a Night Photographer - By: Babak A. Tafreshi
The night sky is my second home... Imaging the spectacular nightscape of Iran's Alborz Mountains in a winter moonlit night. The starry sky appears above Mount Damavand, the highest peak in the Middle East at top altitude of 5610 m. In the sky along the Milky Way bright star Deneb in Cygnus is visible. On the left Venus, the second brightest object in the night sky, appears over the light dome of Tehran, about 70 km away. Light of passing cars in the Haraz valley appears on the bottom; a main route between Tehran and the Caspian Sea, through the Alborz Mountains.
